We are on the final stretch people—the final stretch to spring. Which means that for the next two months or so (can you believe that tomorrow is MARCH?! Onward and upward! Henceforth. Etc. Etc.) it is going to be a mess outside. And it has already started. Somehow, when I am walking around outside, my face is colder than it has been all winter and yet all the snow is melting. And then it ices and then it melts again, so what we have on our hands is a big f-ing mess.
I am sure my comrades in the northern regions can attest to my statement that I have just about had it with my winterwear—the thought of putting on my down parka, big snowboots and mismatched winter accessories is enough to make me want to scream. But I gotta keep it together—just have to get through the next couple months.
So...in anticipation of this awkward time passing, as well as the upcoming delivery of my new Tom's shoes, I present to you:
SHOES I CAN'T WAIT TO WEAR*
*as you can see, the following shoes are more spring-friendly than summer-friendly, namely in that they have closed toes. I have a whole 'nother arsenal for summer-time (supplemented by the shoes you see here).
Fantastic little velvety-bow numbers
The resurgence of your favorite shoes from the past is a glorious thing
Whenever I am traveling and I stop at one of those crazy gas stations that carry Minnetonka's, I always contemplate throwing down $40 plus for a pair (word to the wise: never do this if you are looking at the simple flats, because you can find those in droves at thrift stores for a fraction of the price)...moral of the story is, if I ran across these Wallaby-like Minnetonka's at a gas station, and not the Savers I found them at, you bet your pretty little bottom that I would throw down.
For some reason, even though these are the only shoes pictured here with an impossibly small heel, they are also the only ones I have regularly been busting out in the winter—which is dumb because anytime I walk, I need to shuffle like a crazy person. So I am looking forward to being able to walk normally in these little numbers.
HA HA HA HA just kidding. Yes, I shouldn't speak so harshly about boots that have been so good to me all season (warm (AND dry) feet for the first time EVER in the winter), but I am looking forward to putting these into retirement for next year.
